What is TARC?

TARC is Shawnee County’s most experienced provider of services, support and advocacy to children, families and adults with developmental, intellectual and related disabilities.

TARC was formed 67 years ago by a small group of local families who wanted to improve the lives of their children with intellectual disabilities. TARC has continued to respond to community needs and we have grown to serve 2,500 children, families and adults.

TARC programming includes an infant-toddler program, adult and day services, case management, employment services, assistive technology, feeding clinic and a self-determination program, the only of its kind in the state.

When you donate to TARC, you help support our programming that provides quality services and supports right here in Topeka and Shawnee County. 

$.90 of every dollar donated to TARC goes directly to our programming!

This is a simple and consistent way to support our programs, as the proceeds from the funds raised support TARC and help to fill gaps in funding to continue to provide excellent service, support and advocacy to children, families and adults with developmental, intellectual and related disabilities.
