Job requirements include:

  • Masters Degree in Speech/Language Pathology with ASHA Certification, Kansas Department of Health and Environment licensure.
  • Must provide documentation of additional training in understanding feeding development.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in the field with 2 years experience working with children and persons with a variety of disabilities.
  • Must maintain required trainings and certification.
  • Valid Kansas Driver’s License and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the Company’s insurance carrier.

  JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Feeding Clinic Therapist (Part-Time)

JOB OBJECTIVE: Provide assessments, evaluations and recommendations for families, children and adults accessing the feeding clinic services. Be a member of a TEAM that confidently and competently supports one another.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Feeding Clinic Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. PROGRAM

  1. Utilize necessary protocols such as intake form, report template, billing process, release of information forms, consent for evaluation forms, etc.
  2. Provide therapy to help clients achieve feeding goals.
  3. Ensure assessments, evaluations and suggested interventions are based on family centered principles and are implemented in a manner that is respectful of cultural and ethnic background and uses a strength-based approach.
  4. Utilize all feeding clinic equipment with priority on safety, health and sanitation policies and procedures.
  5. Provide instruction and use of feeding modalities that are within the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) scope of practices and professional ASHA code of ethics.

II. ADMINISTRATIVE

  1. Complete clinical notes, billing records and reports according to agency procedures.
  2. Maintain effective working relationships with allied agencies and services most directly related to feeding clinic.
  3. Provide documentation to meet all regulations for state and federal requirements.
  4. Maintain records of clinic utilization.
  5. Maintain and submit appropriate documentation necessary for billing.
  6. Submit all paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.

III. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

QUALIFICATIONS: Person of good character who is mentally and physically able to conduct oneself in a responsible manner in carrying out the job for which they are employed. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must be licensed to provide feeding therapy in the state of Kansas. Must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of feeding development across the lifespan, organizational ability to develop and support clinic activities and ability to communicate effectively with families, patients, and staff.  Should be knowledgeable of Medicaid, Medicare, and billing requirements.

EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology with ASHA Certification, Kansas Department of Health and Environment licensure. Must provide documentation of additional training in understanding feeding development.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Minimum of four years’ experience in the field with two years’ experience working with children and persons with a variety of disabilities. Must maintain required training and certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Routine job responsibilities require frequent physical demands. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be available 3-5 hours per week.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License.
  2. Maintain eligibility for TARC’s standard insurance policy.
  3. Must be able to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential
  4. Must provide monthly Drivers Time Records to HR Division as required by the KCC (Kansas Corporation Commission) if employed outside of TARC.
  5. Maintain active state of Kansas SLP licensure, active ASHA licensure, and registration and maintenance with Council of Affordable Health system (CAQH)
