Happy 62nd Birthday TARC!
Sixty-two (62) years ago a group of 32 concerned and passionate parents met to discuss a mutual problem. They all needed support and services for their children – TARC was born on February 8, 1954.
In 1954, TARC provided services to 24 children between the ages of five and eighteen years old in a six room house at 4600 Southwest 10th Street, Topeka. The salary for the fist instructor was paid by the Junior League of Topeka.
In the last 62 years, we have grown to provide service, support and advocacy for 2,500 infants, children, families and adults Topeka and Shawnee County.
